30 Day Worship Revolution

This weekend has been awesome! We had a night of worship at Great Bridge West Ministries on Saturday night. And then the same speaker, Keith Duncan, spoke on Sunday. He talked a lot about worship and how it affects us. He gave us a challenge. And our family accepted it along with some others. The challenge is to play praise and worship music in our home 24 hours a day for 30 days! Now the music doesn't have to be blasting all the time. But I love it loud sometimes! And it needs to be playing even if we are not home. Oh, I was excited about this. We already play music in our home. I can't say that it was 24/7, but it is a lot. We are just stepping it up a notch!
Saturday night the praise team was able to go to dinner with the Duncans. So Dean took our kids home and put the baby to bed. My dad came over to stay when Dean had to go to work. (I was missing Madison but she was at Busch Gardens with Nathan)When I got home late that night, Dean already had the music going! And it has been playing ever since. We chose to play our music in the kitchen. That seems to be the heart of the home! It's actually so nice to always hear the music. I've caught myself turning it up some and then sometimes I will turn it down low. It's nice waking up to that in the morning too. It helps me start my day off right! And my kids love it too! We are expecting an atmosphere change here in The Whitehurst Home! We can't wait to see what happens!

Update
** I published this post a few days after starting it! That's what happens when you go back to work! BUT just to let you know it's been almost a week and the music hasn't stopped! It's still playing!! This is great! **

New Yard Decor

Most people probably want to keep squirrels out of their yard. Well, we are trying to attract them in ours! A few weeks before school started Dean and Braeden put up some squirrel feeders. One is this silly looking little rocking chair with a corn cob on it and the other is something that a friend of Dean's made. The squirrel actually has to go inside the pickle jar to get the food. They were all excited to put them up. Poor little Braeden was getting eat up by mosquitoes that evening. I think he walked into a swarm of them or something. We have seen a few squirrels eating the food. Leave it to my boys wanting to help the wildlife!

Boys Night Out

Dean took the boys for a little baseball practice tonight! He has taken Connor to the batting cages before, but Braeden had never been. So he took them both tonight. Braeden got to hit while Connor was getting some 'tips' from a batting coach. They had a great time and ended the night at Sonic! Connor loved that!

Sophie's Boo Boo

Sophia had a little mishap this morning. Her daddy took her to daycare. He said she was walking up the steps and he was holding her hand. Dean said she kind of tripped I guess and fell. Poor girl, he said she twisted around and was head down! He called me today to warn me before I picked her up!

Family Birthday Dinner

Every year my parents take the 'Big Kids' out for a birthday dinner in September. We have several people in our family with birthdays in the month of September...Dean, my dad, Dawn, Cameron, Danny. We all find a babysitter and have an adult night out! Madison has joined us the past few years. We have gone to different places in the past. This year we chose Japanese again! We tried a different place though. And it was pretty good. We certainly had a few laughs! Poor Dean he was catching it! I love spending time with my family. We always have a blast! Thanks Mom and Dad for a great night!

Poor Dean, he was being a good sport...Danny said no way! I can't believe they shot that stuff in his mouth....He looked at Matt and said, "Sorry Pastor"

Everyone getting a kick out of Dean.

Here is Dean's sushi he ordered...I don't know how he eats that stuff! And Dawn ate it too!

Madison ate some sushi!

Here they are trying to catch something in their mouth...shrimp maybe??

A Boy, A Hole, and A Mole

Today I spent most of the afternoon in Norfolk. Ma was having her heart catheterization. So Dean was in charge of getting the kids after school today. Of course when they got home they ended up outside. You've got to love this awesome fall weather we are having. He had some interesting pictures to share with me when I got home. Mr.Braeden was out and about in the yard. Something popped up at his feet. In his words, "I thought it was a toad!" So he tried to catch it. Well he grabbed it by the tail and it was not a toad. It was a MOLE! He said, "It took me one whole minute to pull that thing up!" He was carrying around a live mole. I just started laughing. That's Braeden for you. And actually he is the second one of my kids to do this. Madison picked one up when she was about 2 or 3 but it was dead. She called it a baby elephant. Well today all the kids were interested in this mole. Dean grabbed the camera and tried to take some pictures. He said it was wiggling around so much that the camera couldn't focus on it. Then they put it in a little box for a bit. Braeden is so funny. He is always coming up with something interesting, whether it's a wild story from his imagination, a spider, or a Live Mole!
