A New Beginning

Today was a day to remember! Dean chose for today to be his last day at IP. It seems kind of weird saying it. It's like this door is closing on part of our lives that has been open for 18 years. When we heard the news several months back that the mill was closing we were in shock like everyone else. But God knew the big picture. He knew the road we would be traveling down and the choices we would make. We are just stepping out on Faith and trusting in HIM. He will supply all of our needs. I am so proud of my hubby! I am thankful that he had a job for the last 18 years that provided for our family! He worked hard! And now I am even more proud!
His friends at work brought in a cake and shrimp to say farewell...

He is excited about what is to come and so I am. I came across this little prayer the other day. How neat is that? I think it was perfect timing. It's just a little prayer that I can say over him. I think it is very fitting for where we are now...

Dear Lord, I pray for my husband from head to toe...
His Head~ That he will look to You as Lord of his life (1 Corinthians 11:3)
His Mind~ That he will have the mind of Christ and think as the Holy Spirit would lead him and not the the flesh (1 Corinthians 2:16)
His Eyes~ That You will keep his eyes from temptation and that he will turn his eyes from sin (Matthew 6:13, Mark 9:47)
His Ears~ That he will hear Your still small voice instructing him (1 Kings 19:12, Psalm 32:8)
His Mouth~ That his words will be pleasing to you (Proverbs 19:1)
His Neck~ That he will humble himself before You and be strong, courageous, and careful to do everything written in Your Word so that he will be prosperous and successful (James 4:10, Joshua 1:8-9)
His Heart~ That he will love and trust you with his whole heart (Deuteronomy 6:5, Proverbs 3:5)
His Arms~ That You will be his strength (Psalm 73:26)
His Hands~ That he will enjoy the work of his hands and see it as a gift from You (Ecclesiastes 3:13, 3:19)
His Feet~ That You will order his steps and that he will walk in Your truth (Proverbs 4:25, Psalm 26:3)

Precious!

We have this little box on our computer desktop that constantly shows pictures from our files. So I am always seeing different pictures. Tonight this one caught my eye. Little Sophie on her first Thanksgiving. Look at those little pouty lips! I could just eat those little cheeks up!

Nana and Papa

My Nana and Papa were delightfully surprised yesterday. They had a party to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary! Wow! 65 years! That is awesome! They are so sweet. They have a wonderful story to tell. God has blessed them indeed. I wanted to share some early pictures and some from the party...

I've been told I look like my Nana...What do you think?

I caught them coming in....they have no idea what they are walking into! They think it's a church youth function!

Poor Baby Girl...

My Sophie girl woke me up last night crying. I went to check on her and realized she was sick. So I called for Dean over the monitor and got some help. Then it was off to the tub and got the washer going. This was around 1 in the morning. Bless her heart she was sick all night. Ugh! We don't like this icky little bug! I just stayed in the recliner with a towel over me and her on my chest all night. I had to put her down once to go to the bathroom. I sat her on her little couch and when I came back in this is how I found her...

Mamaw stopped by this evening with a new pair of boots! This perked her up for a bit. She had to put them on over her PJ's...and yes we are still sporting the Christmas PJ's :)

She is better today. Hasn't got sick since this morning, but now she is running a temperature. She crawled up on the couch and went to sleep. Feel better soon Sophie Girl!

The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped.

After five years...

Today was the day! Madison had her braces taken off this afternoon! She has been waiting for this day for a right good while. She was so excited. I really wanted to take pictures of this but didn't want people to think I was too goofy. But this was a one time thing, Of course I was going to take pictures! So I went right in with my camera and caught it all. And get this, while we were back there another little girl was getting her braces off and her mom had her camera too!

On our way!

Madison won the Valentine drawing...$25 gift card to Regal Cinemas

Okay now they are getting ready to do this!

Last picture with braces! WooHoo!

I see white teeth!

And there they are...the little contraptions that have did their job and now their time is up! Madison was funny on the way home. She said "You know braces are kind of barbaric. Metal in your mouth being tightened to straighten your teeth."

Aw, I got the first glimpse...

Now they have to get the glue off her teeth...

TaDa!! Almost done, Dr.Anderson has to work on her a little more to get all that glue off her teeth. He was grinding away!

She had to pick out her top and bottom retainers...I think she chose glow in the dark hot pink and sparkly purple....things sure have changed! They even had zebra print!

Doesn't she look pretty!

Impressions being made for her retainers she will get next week...I don't think she is a fan of this!

The finished product! Beautiful! They gave her a pack of gum to chew...just for a week!

I was promised lots of big smiles now!
